bullet holes and other issues 2013
----------------------------------------------
Are we bearers of inherently violent minds, or do we merely harbor an instinctual inclination toward killing? The bullet, serving as an object, symbolises a deliberate embrace of death. This savage creation assumes a pivotal role in the social, political, or religious subjugation of groups, entities, and/or countries. In our grim history of bloodshed and dominance, we collectively manage to normalise the act of killing, as though it were a mundane ritual—a norm I find myself unequipped to adopt.
Within this collection of paintings and prints, I articulate my visceral response to the act of firing a bullet. It serves as a metaphor for the profound implications of terminating a human life. Engaging in a profound dialogue between interruption and the visually established parameters of space, these artworks allegorically convey the tragic suffering inflicted by an object, effortlessly crafted by humanity.
