Consumerism

In our modern lives, we live in consumeristic societies that are home to commercial settings. Our cities are saturated with symbols of trade and commerce, we don't need to read the sign to get it. It works in our peripheral vision. We see colours, shapes and letters, There are so many stories that come from a shade of green or a diamond shape.
As an artist, I am trying to reflect on that meditative moment; when I am looking at a sign, a red fridge or a giometrical shape and in a split of a second we're emptying our minds, and downloading whatever image it is without even really processing it. The memory part of our brain (cerebrum) is loaded with those codes and we have no control over it.
As an artist, I constantly try to display manifestations of my notions towards the idea of consumerism. Am I able to create these manifestations beyond accepted levels of comfort? This is the question that I strive to answer in this project..
